The Leverett Family
The craft at the heart of Piano Restorations has been passed down through the Leverett family over generations.
What began as a deep personal passion for the instrument became a lifelong calling and eventually, a workshop and a name that concert pianists, recording studios, and discerning collectors have come to trust.
This is not a production line. It is a continuation of a tradition, one that demands years of training, an eye for detail and an ear attuned to the finest nuances of tone and touch.

THE PIANO MAN - A short film on the life of Master Piano Technician, Colin Leverett
The Workshop
Tucked away in the Buckinghamshire countryside, our workshop at Three Bridge Mill is where patience and precision meet. It is a place that smells of hide glue and seasoned spruce, where the sound of a hammer and a tuning fork are equally familiar and where pianos that have fallen silent find their voice again.
We are Piano Restorations and we have spent decades learning the language of these instruments, their mechanisms, their timber, their voice. Every piano that comes to us carries its own history. Our work is to honour that history and carry it forward.

Our Approach
No two pianos are alike and no two restorations are the same. A minimum of 250 man hours goes into every rebuilt piano that leaves our workshop, from the regulation of each individual key to the final voicing of the hammers. We work across the full spectrum of the instrument: the mechanics, the soundboard, the strings, the case and the finish.
We use only the finest materials, the same grades of felt, leather and pin block timber used by the original makers because we believe that a restored piano should not merely work. It should sing.

Who We Work With
Our pianos have found homes in concert halls, recording studios, conservatoires and the drawing rooms of passionate private collectors. We work with clients who understand that a great piano is not simply purchased, it is curated. If that is you, we would be glad to talk.
